As I write this, the air is thick with marine fog and fire smoke. If you wanted to maximize haze and poor quality air, you couldn't do any better. Soon, the winds will clear this muck out and living will be easier. Today is return to home day as evacuations have been lifted. Flames just feet away from homes and lives are the conversational themes these days. With tears fresh in my eyes, I consider the miracle of no lives or major structures lost and with much gratitude, I thank the armies of firefighters who like epic heroes fought this battle and saved this incredible community from ruin.
