Life Beyond the Calendar

I'll be doing Open Studios again this year at my house in Davenport. The dates are Oct. 1st, 2nd, 15th and 16th, 11-5pm. I'll be highlighting some larger framed prints plus a new category of affordable matted and non-matted prints for standard frame sizes. Lots of new work will be on display. Mark those calendars!

The Davenport Gallery will also be joining in by hosting a show in October titled "Open Gallery". The idea of this show is to offer a venue for those not doing Open Studios to show their work. Many artists, for a variety of reasons just don't do Open Studios, so please pass the word and contact the gallery if you or someone you know want to join in the County wide celebration of art in Santa Cruz County.

I picked up my calendars today at a South Francisco warehouse only to find my Volvo can't really handle 1,300 lbs of of highly compressed printer paper. So back to the trucker's cage first thing manana.

Gallery Site Back Up

I created a new site with mostly images that have been printed and offered for sale. I'm not sure where I take my gallery strategy at this point, but given the huge number of images in my portfolio, it will need to be simplified in order to be manageable. The new site will expand over time and be fine tuned as ideas emerge on how to better categorize and interface. The new site uses Wordpress, but I've pretty much de-blogged it to mimic the look of my previous site. There is no use of Flash which means Apple's little gadgets should be happy to display my work. Apple, I guess you win. I welcome any comments or inquiries.
